MV Elmore was built in 1949 as a general cargo vessel at Walker's Shipyard, Maryborough, Queensland, Australia for the Australian Shipping Board. In 1966 she was sold to Bougainville Trading Company Pty. Ltd., Rabaul, Papua New Guinea and re-named MV Nukumanu. Until her sale in 1974, she was operated by Terence and Anne Wood, collecting copra and cocoa from plantations along the Bougainville coast
Japanese World War II anti-aircraft gun emplacement, Pohndolap Area, Sokehs Island, Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia, Overlooking the state capital, Kolonia, this north-south ridge was fortified by the Japanese during the war. They also built a road known as the "Artillery Road" to the ridge's summit.
